Acid-resistant systemic enzyme formula | Enteric-protected serrapeptase & nattokinase with proteolytic enzyme and cofactor blend

Systemic enzymes are one of the more misunderstood categories in supplementation. Taken on an empty stomach so they pass beyond the digestive tract, proteolytic (protein-acting) enzymes are valued for their role in supporting the body's own everyday maintenance and recovery processes. The challenge has always been delivery: serrapeptase and nattokinase are powerful but fragile, and most uncoated products lose much of their activity to stomach acid before they can do anything useful.

Serracor-NK is built specifically around that problem. It pairs two of the most-studied systemic enzymes with a supporting cast of proteolytic enzymes, antioxidant herbs, Coenzyme Q10 and magnesium — and protects the delicate enzymes with an acid-resistant coating so that more of the active material survives the stomach intact.

SEBkinase® Blend — the protected core

The heart of the formula is the SEBkinase® blend: acid-resistant serrapeptase (as Peptizyme SP® EN) and acid-resistant nattokinase. Both are proteolytic enzymes long studied for their roles in the body's normal protein and connective tissue turnover. Notably, the nattokinase used here is vitamin K-free, removing the clotting-factor contribution that vitamin K would otherwise make.

Proteolytic enzyme & cofactor blend

Surrounding the core enzymes is a broader proteolytic array — bromelain, papain, lipase, and additional proteases — that supports the formula's overall enzymatic activity and contributes to its role in normal tissue maintenance.

Rutin & Amla

Two plant-derived antioxidants. Rutin is a bioflavonoid associated with the support of healthy blood vessels and capillary integrity, while Amla (Indian gooseberry) is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C and polyphenols, contributing antioxidant support to the formula.

Coenzyme Q10 & Magnesium

CoQ10 functions as a cofactor in cellular energy production, while magnesium acts as a cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic reactions — both included to support the formula's enzymatic action rather than to leave the enzymes working unsupported.

What Sets This Product Apart

The defining feature of Serracor-NK is its acid-resistant delivery. The phthalate-free methacrylic acid copolymer coating applied to the serrapeptase and nattokinase is designed to keep the enzymes stable through the acidic stomach environment so that more reaches the point of absorption with activity intact. Many competing serrapeptase and nattokinase products are simply uncoated, and a meaningful proportion of their enzyme activity may be lost before absorption.

AST Enzymes is also the original manufacturer of the SEBkinase® enteric-coated enzyme blend — the formula that many later products have sought to imitate. Production takes place in ISO- and GMP-certified facilities in the USA, and the formula is free from animal derivatives, dairy, yeast, fish, shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts, with kosher-certified individual enzymes, making it suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

For anyone seeking a serious, well-protected systemic enzyme formula rather than a basic single-enzyme capsule, Serracor-NK is the considered choice.

Directions for Use

Take on an empty stomach — at least 30–60 minutes before food, or two or more hours after eating — with water. Systemic enzymes should be taken away from food so they are not consumed when digesting the meal. Follow the dose on the label or use as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

Allergen Information

Free from animal derivatives, dairy, yeast, fish, shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Individual enzymes are kosher-certified.

Cautions & Contraindications

This formula contains proteolytic enzymes with recognised effects on the body's clotting processes. For that reason:

  • Do not use if you are taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication (for example, warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel or similar) without first consulting your prescribing doctor.
  • Discontinue use at least two weeks before any scheduled surgery or dental procedure.
  • Not suitable if you have a bleeding disorder, a peptic ulcer, or are otherwise at increased risk of bleeding.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Discontinue and seek advice if you experience any unusual bruising or bleeding.

If you are taking any prescribed medication or have an existing health condition, consult your healthcare professional before use. Always read the label and use only as directed. Nutritional supplements may only be of assistance if dietary intake is inadequate.
