Focus + Clarity Shots by Quicksilver Scientific — Box of 12 × 10mL

Mental performance is not simply a matter of stimulation. Sustained cognitive clarity, attentional focus, and a composed sense of alertness depend on adequate cerebral circulation, balanced neurotransmitter tone, and the capacity to sustain cognitive effort without fatigue. Quicksilver Scientific's Focus + Clarity Shots address each of these dimensions through a concentrated botanical tonic delivered in the brand's signature liposomal format — a 10mL shot designed to be held briefly in the mouth before swallowing, initiating absorption across the buccal mucosa before the formula reaches the digestive tract.

The result is fast-acting, precise, and portable — a single shot taken on demand rather than a daily supplement built up over weeks.

Quicksilver Delivery Systems® (QDS) — liposomal absorption

The active botanical compounds in this formula are encapsulated within liposomes produced using Quicksilver's proprietary QDS platform. Liposomes are phospholipid bilayer vesicles that replicate the structure of cell membranes, allowing their contents to be transported across mucosal surfaces and into circulation without the degradation that typically occurs during gastrointestinal digestion. Quicksilver produces liposomes in the 20–100 nanometre range — small enough to pass between cells and begin absorbing from the moment they contact the oral mucosa.

This delivery approach is particularly relevant for botanical compounds with otherwise variable or limited oral bioavailability, and it means the onset of effect from a single shot is meaningfully faster than equivalent encapsulated or powdered formulations. The phospholipids used in the liposomal matrix are themselves bioactive — phosphatidylcholine is a structural constituent of neuronal membranes and a direct dietary precursor to acetylcholine, the primary neurotransmitter of the cholinergic system.

Guarana seed extract (Paullinia cupana)

Guarana seed contains a naturally occurring complex of xanthine alkaloids, of which caffeine is the predominant compound. At concentrations significantly higher than those in coffee beans, guarana seed provides natural, food-derived stimulation of the central nervous system via adenosine receptor antagonism — the same mechanism by which all dietary caffeine operates. The difference in subjective experience between guarana and isolated caffeine is commonly attributed to the seed's tannin-rich matrix, which is thought to slow the release of caffeine into circulation, producing a more gradual and sustained alertness profile rather than a sharp peak.

Guarana seed extract directly contributes to the formula's support for mental alertness and the ability to sustain cognitive effort. As this formula contains a proprietary blend, the precise caffeine equivalent per shot is not disclosed on the label; individuals with caffeine sensitivity should be aware that a meaningful amount of naturally occurring caffeine is present.

GS15-4® Fermented Korean Panax ginseng extract

GS15-4® is a standardised, proprietary extract of Panax ginseng produced via a fermentation process using Lactobacillus species. Fermentation partially hydrolyses the larger, less bioavailable ginsenosides found in raw ginseng (such as Rb1, Rc, Rd) into smaller, more bioavailable forms, including compound K — a ginsenoside metabolite not found in the natural plant but produced in the gut of only approximately 30% of adults who consume standard ginseng. By pre-converting these ginsenosides through fermentation, GS15-4® provides more consistent systemic exposure to the pharmacologically active forms, regardless of individual gut microbiome composition.

Ginsenosides exert their effects through multiple mechanisms, including modulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, support of dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmission, and direct adaptogenic activity — supporting the body's capacity to maintain normal physiological function under conditions of cognitive or physical demand.

Ginseng Plus® Panax notoginseng root extract

Panax notoginseng (Tian Qi or San Qi in traditional Chinese medicine) is a distinct ginseng species with a ginsenoside profile that differs meaningfully from Panax ginseng. It contains notoginsenoside R1 — a compound absent from other ginseng species — alongside the shared ginsenosides Rb1 and Rg1. P. notoginseng has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine for its effects on blood circulation, and modern research has focused specifically on its influence on microvascular tone and cerebral microcirculation. Within a cognitive performance formula, this extract supports normal blood flow to brain tissue, underpinning the oxygenation and substrate delivery that sustained mental activity requires.

Theacrine (as Teacrine®)

Theacrine is a naturally occurring purine alkaloid found primarily in the leaves of Camellia assamica var. kucha (kucha tea). It is structurally related to caffeine and acts via a similar mechanism — antagonism of adenosine A1 and A2A receptors, producing wakefulness and alertness — but additionally engages dopaminergic pathways in a manner caffeine does not, contributing to the mood-elevating and motivational qualities attributed to this compound.

A clinically relevant distinction between theacrine and caffeine is the apparent absence of tolerance development with regular use at the doses studied. Clinical research has not demonstrated the progressive attenuation of effect that characterises habitual caffeine use, suggesting theacrine may maintain its alerting and motivational effects with consistent use in a way caffeine does not. Teacrine® is a registered, standardised form of theacrine from a defined natural source.

LifeFlower® Erigeron breviscapus herb extract

Erigeron breviscapus (Dengzhanhua or Dengzhanxixin in Chinese medicine) is a plant used in traditional Chinese medicine for its effects on blood circulation, particularly at the microvascular level. Its principal active compound, breviscapine (primarily composed of the flavonoid scutellarin), has been the subject of research in the context of cerebral microcirculation and regional blood flow. Within the context of this formula, the Erigeron extract contributes to the circulatory dimension of cognitive support — complementing the Panax notoginseng extract in a dual approach to maintaining normal blood perfusion to brain tissue.

LifeFlower® is a standardised, trademarked extract form.

Epimedium Sagittatum extract (aerial parts)

Epimedium sagittatum (Yin Yang Huo in Chinese medicine) contains icariin and a family of structurally related prenylated flavonoids. Within a cognitive performance context, icariin has been studied for its effects on neuronal function and dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmitter pathways — the circuits most directly associated with motivation, mood, and reward processing. The inclusion of epimedium in this formula addresses the affective dimension of cognitive performance: the capacity to sustain motivation and maintain a composed, positive mental state under cognitive demand.

Flavour: Natural raspberry and hibiscus — lightly flavoured for palatability without added sugar.

Cautions

This formula contains naturally occurring caffeine from guarana seed extract and theacrine, both of which act via antagonism at adenosine receptors. Do not use in the evening or within several hours of intended sleep. Those with sensitivity to caffeine or stimulant compounds — including individuals with anxiety, elevated blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, or insomnia — should begin with half a shot and assess individual tolerance before proceeding to a full serving.

Do not combine with other caffeinated products, energy drinks, or stimulant-containing supplements without accounting for total daily caffeine intake.

Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without consultation with a healthcare practitioner. Not suitable for children or adolescents.

If taking prescription medications — particularly MAO inhibitors, antihypertensives, anticoagulants, or medications with a narrow therapeutic index — consult your healthcare practitioner before use.

Keep out of reach of children.
