Ethylenediamenetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is the name for a few variations of this widespread amino acid. Arizona Natural Products only uses calcium disodium EDTA, the most commonly tested and proven chelation agent.
Calcium disodium is a synthetic amino acid that binds and removes metals and minerals from the body.
Oral EDTA Recommendations:
Take EDTA at least 2 hours before or after any meals or supplements. This is because it binds indiscriminately to metals and minerals, meaning that if other minerals are present in the system, it will bind to them before reaching the desired area. 2-3 capsules a day for 10 days = 1 intravenous session (approx).
Replenish depleted minerals by adding a multivitamin and mineral supplement. EDTA will remove some minerals from your body over time, so it is a good idea to increase your intake of these minerals.
We also recommend taking EDTA in cycles of 6 weeks on, then 2 weeks off. This is why we suggest a one-a-day multi: the break will allow your body to restore its mineral levels to more natural levels.
